What a blitz campaign by Tall Lad – From non-starter to Contender!
The COTY Cup has never been easy to win. Some of our finest c´s have tried and failed to secure the trophy. This year looks like a very open vote. The electorate are ´shifty´ and have been taking advantage of Ammendment 1 (the right to change your vote).
The rise of populist Tall Lad in the Poll has been nothing short of suspicious. First Plumber thought the cup was in the bag and made that fatal error of getting cocky. His voters left him as fast as the lads around Reg when the enevitable happens.
Next, Gunner started polishing his Mahoganey COTY Cabinet built by the finest slaves artists in the country. No sooner did he start gloating, than Tall Lad came out of nowhere giving about Electricity Prices, Free houses for his neighbours and general middle income hardships that inspired the Brotherhood to recognize the c he has been hiding beneath the effervescent Pop-Star smile. The MOTS cannot resist this, and already his support has grown so rapidly that Toops are even looking forward to his victory speech!
A word to the wise c´s however, the race is still young. A lot can happen over the next few days. One “Nice-Guy” slip up and the trophy could slip out of the grasp of a would-be-winner like Magic´s lost Achill sandwich, never to be seen again!

Will Whippy and Rhino fight for their right to be recognized for the c´s that they are?
With 12 votes in, the early board prices hint at a two-horse race for the coveted COTY Cup.
BP, the novice with a broad conformation, looks to have come of age. On the hilly gallops he has shown an impressive top gait. A lot will depend on his performance in the paddock but expect him to be the short priced favourite at the post.
Gunner, some would say this fancied entire stallion is over the top. He is known to be a drifter, but he was considered very unlucky last year, being the odds-on sure thing going into the paddock only to miss out by a nose to the thoroughbred champion Rhino (back racing this year after ´Resting´ in stud).
Hard to pick a winner from the rest of the field:
- PP has not had many victories since 2022 but is showing great form as race-day approaches. He is hoping for a good draw.
- It´s Trippy´s first time to be backed. This always well turned out top pedigree chaser had tremendous form this Spring and although unfancied will do well if the going is soft.

The 2023 winner of the COTY cup was the 3/1 outsider and ever impressive City faithful, Rhino.
The Election was a close run thing with everyone expecting the vote to be a mere crowning of Gunner. A dramatic vote off came down to closing statements and Rhino swung a vote or two his way with his silent mic masterpiece. A true genius who saved his best act to the final second.
Following his victory in the election, the Brotherhood have detected anomalies in the voting process. It appears his ex Best Friend (forever), Tat, knew he would win two evenings before the vote. In more incriminating behaviour, Rhino as winner ‘forgot’ the cup in his celebrations and the cup had to be retrieved by long standing stalwart of the Brotherhood Mr. Long Grass.
*Based on the obvious Vote Cartel and the scurrilous post victory behaviour, the Brotherhood high command have decided to have a Steward’s Inquiry with a possible outcome being a re-election in the Autumn Gunner Tours.

The Brotherhood have been running advanced Simulation tests to help predict the outcome of the much anticipated COTY election. The Race has tightened with a strong late run by Rhino. The Simulator still favours Gunner though, time will tell!
